Vivek Oberoi has personally sponsored the education of a young girl, Saniya, and is also helping the family with food rations. Saniya has two brothers and a sister. Her father is suffering from mouth cancer and has lost his job. Without Food for Life support it would be very difficult for the family to survive.

In an interview with Food for Life Vrindavan, Oberoi revealed his concern for the plight of young village girls. He said, “My aim is to get maximum public support and spread awareness of the appalling conditions in which so many Indian children in rural societies live. There are girls who are married off at the age of 13-14, even though it is illegal. We strongly believe that changes in Indian social fabric will happen only when the women have a more active and powerful role in society.
Food for Life Vrindavan is an organization that puts 95% of every penny that comes their way directly to the cause. You can sponsor a child. You can give them a life; an education, self-belief, confidence and most of all you can give a child a childhood. We’re taking a very hands-on approach to help over 3,000 girls, as well as to build an orphanage within the facility. It’s a big task, an enormous task, and I’m looking for all the support I can get.”
